• NCIS: Tony & Ziva is the latest NCIS series airing on Paramount+.
  • Fans want to know if NCIS: Tony & Ziva will be back for season 2.
  • Actress Cote de Pablo commented about the show's future.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva dropped the first three episodes of season 1 on Paramount+, and folks are ecstatic about seeing Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo return to the screen as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David. With the new spinoff in the NCIS franchise gaining traction, fans are already wondering whether it will be back for season 2.

While it's unclear about the current status of NCIS: Tony & Ziva, Cote did speak with TV Insider about the possibility of the show getting renewed for season 2. And even though the season 1 finale is still more than a month away, Cote shared how special it's been to come back and play Ziva for another go-around.

"I think we’d be lucky to play these characters for—look, I’ll say this: Season 1 was like a dream," Cote told the outlet in an interview published on September 7. "It was so much fun to go back and revisit these characters. Where this goes, we know not. All we know is that we had to do this. Michael and I felt we owed it to the fans. And so we’re really happy about this just being able to happen. We manifested it."

We love to see that Cote (and Michael, for that matter) are both so invested in rejoining the world of NCIS with they latest series! But, does this mean there's a chance for NCIS: Tony & Ziva to return for season 2? As Cote later noted, it's a "never say never" kind of scenario.

"We’re just grateful that we got a chance to do it, and the rest is the rest," she added. "If we got a chance to do it again, we’d be thrilled."

As fans know, NCIS: Tony & Ziva sees the titular characters raising their young daughter Tali (Isla Gie) in Paris. After Tony's security company gets attacked, the duo must go on the run in order to clear their names. But this also forces them to face old emotional wounds, given how the two have had an on-and-off relationship ever since they first met in NCIS season 3.

Well, it looks like there's a lot to hope for this time around ... and maybe Cote's dreams for NCIS: Tony & Ziva to get renewed for season 2 will come true!
